قبل 15 عام، وفي قرية (هام) المحاذية لمدينة إربد شمال العاصمة، وأثناء تعبيد الطريق المؤدي لها تم الكشف عن مقبرة رومانية.. وفي إحدى الصخور المطلة على المقبرة، وجدت رسومات تظهر شكل أفعى.. والأفعى حسب المعتقد الروماني، ما هي إلا لحماية الجثث ومقتنياتها الذهبية من الأرواح الشريرة واللصوص.. ..عندها بدأت أعداد غفيرة من ممثلي بلدية إربد ودائرة الآثار بالتوافد إلى المكان والكشف عنه، والبحث عن ماهية المقبرة.. والشعور الذي لازم الجميع آنذاك "الكشف عن دفين ذهبي لا محالة".. وللإشارة التاريخية.. فقد عمد الرومان عند وفاة كل واحد منهم، بدفن ممتلكاته معه، ووضع جرة ممتلئة بالذهب، فوق رأس الجثة، وهو ما ألهب الجميع لدى بدءهم النبش عن التاريخ.. وعند نبش كل قبر، تم اكتشاف جرار وأواني فخارية.. هنا ثار الجميع وتلاشت أحلامهم، فالجرة الأولى فارغة والثانية والثالثة والرابعة كذلك..وبعدها نشرت الصحف عن "اكتشاف هام في هام..مقبرة رومانية".. أما الذهب المتوقع، فما هو إلا حلم ظل قابعا في مخيلة الكثيرين، "قرية (هام) هي القرية الأهم بالذهب".
